The 6.4L had issues from the factory with the stock pistons cracking.
The Mahle Maxx Force 7 Pistons were designed for the International engine which are engineered to fix the issues that Ford had with the stock 6.4L pistons.
This kit will come with all 8 pistons and rings.
STYLE: We are proud to present Genuine Mahle pistons, available as drop in replacement, or reduced height ( .010" shorter compression height to compensate for block machining). All pistons come with rings, pins and clips. All pistons come with coated skirts for superior wear protection and DLC coated pins for maximum durability. Deliping is a popular machining service we offer for performance applications that want to lower the static compression ratio slightly and remove the "Ricardo Chamber" or the overhanging lip around the piston bowl. Valve reliefs (also commonly referred to as "flycut") describes machining relief area into the piston, needed for KDD stage 3 and larger camshafts. As long as the engine's piston protrusion and valve recession is correct, valve reliefs aren't needed for S1 and S2 camshafts.
NOTE: Adding valve reliefs and delipping to your piston order lowers the static compression ratio of the engine, typically used for race or high performance/high boost applications. The engine may be side effects from this lowered compression ratio, such as fuel smoke/haze upon first start up until the engine is at operating temp.
COATING: Also available standard or coated crown for even greater durability. These are a great option for all factory rebuilds, and mild performance builds. Check out a link to our piston coating process here.
