Announcing the release of Aluminum Gen2 CNC Ported Heads for 6.0 Powerstroke

We are proud to introduce our latest advancement in technology by offering our Gen 2 CNC 5 axis ported 6.0 powerstroke head.  We strive to continue advancing our products to offer the latest technology and refinement available in the diesel performance industry.

Our Gen 2 CNC Ported Head Features:

  • All Aluminum Design, premium alloy cast to KDD specs
  • Premium Stainless Valves for extreme temperatures as standard equipment
  • Performance Valve Springs as standard equipment- 100 lbs or 120 lbs options
  • 100% CNC port, optimized for airflow
  • CNC ported on the latest DMG Mori 5 Axis Machine
  • 3D Laser Scanned port with CAM Manufacturing Tool Paths
  • Tested and measured using Superflow SF-600 Flowbench
  • Machined in Race City USA- Charlotte North Carolina
  • Assembled here in house at Kill Devil Diesel.

Why do you need CNC porting?

During the casting process, it leaves a natural "casting" finish - this works fairly well for everyday use, but we always want more!  Porting allows for enhanced flow, increased torque, improved efficiency and is the building block to allow for extra performance modifications - adding cam kits, more boost, more fuel, and improving mixture, allowing smooth flow to the combustion chamber.

Porting not only changes the surface finish, it changes the overall shape and size of the port runner, the goal is to create less turbulent airflow, and more of it!

Our numbers

We stand behind our data.  Our goal was to create the best port without significantly impacting price or needing extreme modifications.  Our Gen 2 port provides a significant improvement over the as cast version, while keeping budget in mind. Our Gen 2 Porting is geared for the everyday truck that is looking for added performance, and future upgrades in mind.  Let the numbers speak for themselves.

Graph #1 shows the additional flow comparison of as cast port for intake and exhaust compared to the improvement from CNC Porting.

Graph #2 shows the Intake port only - comparing the as cast port next to the CNC ported version

Graph #3 shows the Exhaust port only - comparing the as cast port next to the CNC ported version

What is 5 Axis Machining & Porting?

5 Axis Machining is when you have 5 degrees of freedom in movement for complex & finite resolution in machining shapes.  This type of machining allows for complex tool paths improving quality and resolution, think of it as the latest technology TV, good picture and a very High Definition.

What is a DMG MORI?

The DMG/DMU is a machine manufacturer considered the benchmark of equipment in CNC manufacturing today.  This is the same equipment that ports heads for NASCAR, Championship Drag Racing, as well as what NASA uses, you know, the folks that send people to space -
