Engineered by engine builders, for engine builders, the Builder Series is designed for those who take pride in building their own engine but don’t want the uncertainty that comes with starting from scratch. We provide every critical component you need — all precision CNC-machined to the same uncompromising standards as our award-winning KDD engines — so you can assemble a powerhouse with confidence. Whether you’re chasing performance, reliability, or both, you’ll have our expert engineering behind you every step of the way.

Each Builder Series Engine package comes with a fully machined and prepped block ready to assemble, a balanced rotating assembly (crankshaft, pistons, pins, rings, bearings), KDD camshaft and lifter kit with chromoly pushrods, American made P1 or ARP head studs, complete gasket set, and our commitment to help support you throughout the assembly process.

S1 – Torque Series

For the owner who wants maximum reliability and torque for towing, daily driving, and longevity — without unnecessary complexity.

Features:

• KDD O-Ringed Cylinder Heads: Equipped with KDD's heavy-duty valve springs and stainless nitrided valves, Hardened Valve Seats, Riffraff Stainless Injector Cups for unmatched durability.

• P1/ARP Head Studs: Eliminates head gasket failures under heavy towing and increased power.

• New Pistons plus rings, bearings, gaskets from a Tier 1 OEM supplier, and factory forged connecting rods.

• USA-Made Valvetrain – S1 Torque Series Camshaft engineered for stump-pulling low-end torque, quick spool, and lower EGTs. Includes KDD Gen2 HD lifters and chromoly pushrods.

• Precision CNC Blueprint Machining: Fully machined and prepped block featuring CNC bore, deck, torque plate hone, and align honing for ultimate durability and superior ring seal - all blocks are magnafluxed and pressure tested to ensure no cracks or leaks, cam bearings and freeze plugs installed, ready to assemble. 

• Fully balanced rotating assembly, for years of smooth operation and long bearing life

Performance Specs:

Rated for 500 HP — ideal for daily driving, frequent towing, and mild upgrades (stock/mild turbo setups and injectors up to 180cc).

S2 – Sportsman Series

For those wanting stronger internals and higher performance without sacrificing street manners.

Features:

• KDD CNC-Ported Delta Series O-Ringed Cylinder Heads with KDD's competition level beehive valve springs and Nitro-Black stainless valves.

• P1 or ARP 2000 Series Head Studs for ultimate clamping force, to prevent blown head gaskets.

• Upgraded Coated Pistons with KDD’s proprietary Red Titanium crown coating for maximum durability under heat and load.

• Total Seal Piston Rings for maximum cylinder sealing, virtually no blow-by, and cleaner oil for longer life.

• Brian Crower Forged Connecting Rods - for superior power potential! 

• USA-Made Valvetrain – S2 Sportsman Series Camshaft optimized for a 1,000–4,000 RPM powerband, KDD Gen2 HD lifters, and KDD chromoly pushrods.

• Precision CNC Blueprint Machining: Fully machined and prepped block featuring CNC bore, deck, torque plate hone, and align honing for ultimate durability and superior ring seal - all blocks are magnafluxed and pressure tested to ensure no cracks or leaks, cam bearings and freeze plugs installed, ready to assemble. 

• Fully balanced rotating assembly, for years of smooth operation and long bearing life

Performance Specs:
Rated at 650 HP — perfect for daily driving, moderate towing, and spirited driving with supporting mods (aftermarket HPOP, KC Stage 2/3 turbo, 238/80 injectors, etc.).

S3 – Outlaw Series

The proven competition-level 7.3 platform — built for maximum strength and power for those chasing records.

Features:

• KDD CNC-Ported Delta Series O-Ringed Cylinder Heads with KDD's competition level beehive valve springs and Nitro-Black stainless valves.

• P1 or ARP 2000 Series Head Studs for extreme boost.

• KDD Billet Main Girdle and Main Studs to keep main caps locked under high load.

• Coated Performance Pistons with soft-radius bowls and valve reliefs.

• USA-Made Forged Connecting Rods for ultimate strength (Carrillo).

• S3 Outlaw Series Billet Camshaft for peak power while retaining drivability.

• KDD Exclusive Jesel Valvetrain System – forged steel shaft-mounted adjustable roller rockers and DLC-coated solid roller lifters for 5,000+ RPM durability.

• Precision CNC Blueprint Machining: Fully machined and prepped block featuring CNC bore, deck, torque plate hone, and align honing for ultimate durability and superior ring seal - all blocks are magnafluxed and pressure tested to ensure no cracks or leaks, cam bearings and freeze plugs installed, ready to assemble.

Performance Specs:
Rated at 1,200+ HP — proven in high-horsepower competition builds, large singles or compounds, nitrous. Not intended for towing.

**PLEASE NOTE: All of the 7.3L engines and engine packages come with an electric fuel pump style camshaft. We do not offer the mechanical fuel style camshaft.
