Each piston is thoroughly inspected and professionally prepped in-house before receiving Kill Devil Diesel’s proprietary Red Titanium piston coating, custom-formulated for us by Cerakote. This coating is engineered to withstand the extreme thermal and mechanical demands of high-output diesel engines.

Unlike many piston coatings on the market that can burn off, flake, or degrade under sustained heat, KDD’s Red Titanium coating is proven in real-world abuse. We’ve personally tested it in engines that routinely see exhaust gas temperatures exceeding 2,000 degrees. In these conditions, the coating did not fail - it remained intact and continued to act as an effective thermal barrier, protecting the piston crown from excessive heat.
