Powder Coat Front Cover

Kill Devil Diesel now offers in house powder coating service to add to products purchased from KDD, or many customers have shipped us parts from all over the world to be coated in a custom color of their choosing.  Each part is carefully prepared for coating by removing all oil/grease in a chemical bath, followed by our industrial soda blasting machine (industrial baking soda blasts parts and easily washes away to eliminate fear of contamination). Once all grease/oil, and paint is thoroughly removed, the bare substrate is examined to be sure it is free of contamination, and that there are no underlying issues that would hinder performance or function.  Parts are then carefully prepped in our climate controlled powder coating department, where our skilled artisans ensure powder adheres everywhere it's supposed to, and no where it's not (bolt holes, threads, critical working areas such as water or oil passages, etc).  Parts are then baked in our digitally controlled thermal oven for precise temperature control, and then carefully inspected to ensure they meet our stringent quality control standards.  

Service includes powder coating front cover (cover not included) and return shipping.  

Single stage describes powder coat colors that apply in a single coating application, typically most gloss or flat colors. Multi stage refers to powder coating colors such as "Pearl", "Candy", "Sparkle", or "Chrome" colors that requires applying multiple coats, which have an added cost.   

Powder Coating service takes appx 1-2 weeks typically, not including shipping time to get parts to or from KDD.  Service includes clean and prep the item, if any flaws or issues are observed (cracks, or defects that may affect performance or function) during the inspection/prep period, KDD will stop processing and contact the customer before proceeding with coating.
